Starters & Strategies Lessons
Many thanks to Wildnz Trust for their efforts to raise the funds needed to produce these fantastic educational resources. These Brown Teal Education lesson plans produced and published in Starters & Strategies Magazine. This magazine is distributed free of charge to over 32,000 school teachers around New Zealand Schools. The material has been developed for children from the age of 7 – 14 years of age. So far 2 lesson plans have been developed and published, with another 4 to be developed in the future when funds become available.

- Gathering information and facts to raise students and community awareness of the plight of the Brown Teal
- Exploring, developing and putting in to action a class and community plan to help save the brown teal from extinction.

- Understanding that birds play an importnat part in creating and maintaining healthy environments
- Using interaction web-based technology to investigate the effects of introduced predators on our bird life and forests.
- Encouraging students to become involved in recovery efforts using web-based technology.
